Top Plants to Have In Your Home

Plants are not just for decoration, research done by NASA found that certain indoor plants help purify the air in your home. The study found that some plants detoxify your home from the airborne toxins, dust and germs that can be found in a variety of household products, materials and furniture.

If your home is full of airborne toxins, it could leave you with headaches, dizziness, nausea, and eye, ear, and nose irritation. Besides the health benefits of these plants, they can make a room feel more welcoming and add a touch of personality and warmth.

These are our favourite indoor plants:

1. Snake plant
Put this plant in your bedroom, and you are in for a good nights sleep. The Snake plant releases oxygen at night, helping you to breathe better while sleeping. It is one of the best plants for filtering the air of formaldehyde, xylene, benzene, toluene, and trichloroethylene.

2.Aloe Plant
The Aloe Plant is commonly used for burns, but it also is excellent for purifying the air of formaldehyde and benzene, found in varnishes, floor finishes, and detergents. This plant grows best when it gets some sunlight.

3. Chinese Evergreen
This plant is best suited for your bathroom where it is a bit more humid and warm. It is an effective cleanser of formaldehyde and benzene, found in detergents and cosmetics.

4. Bamboo Palm
NASA gave the Bamboo Palm a score of 8.4 out of 10, effective at clearing out benzene and trichloroethylene. This plant is a bit high maintenance as it needs to be watered regularly and be in sunlight.

5.Red-Edged Dracaena
This beautiful plant can grow up to 15 feet and is excellent if you are looking to fill up some space and give your house a bit of a forest feel. This plant reduces xylene, trichloroethylene and formaldehyde from the air.
