Summer Show Home Style

Summer is officially here. You’ve completed your spring cleaning and now it’s time to welcome some of that fresh summer brightness into
your décor and home for the season. Summer is the perfect time to blur the lines between your outdoor and indoor space. With so many of us wanting to spend as much time as possible outside in the sunshine, but our climate not always allowing for basking in the summer heat, updating your décor in small but significant ways can go a long way to enhancing your experience of the season.

Flooding your home with natural light and using the natural textures of the outdoors to decorate your home is the perfect way to transform
your interior space and achieve summer show home style.

Pops of Colour:

For a look than can be updated with the seasons, starting with a soft neutral wall colour as your base and adding bursts of colour which reflect the time of year is something to consider when redecorating your space.

Adding colour into your space is a great way to start a room makeover. Giving your room a fresh coat of paint in a lighter colour can certainly brighten a room, but if you don’t want to go to the trouble or repainting, or if you already love the colour of your room, then adding pops of colour in your artwork, throw cushions and small pieces of décor will do the trick.

Naturally Stylish:

Using natural textures and fabrics seamlessly bring the feeling of the outdoors indoors. Linen fabrics work as a beautiful backdrop on
bed covers, throw pillows and sofa cushions. You can mix this classic fabric with other textures to find contemporary combinations.

Accenting rooms with pieces like photo frames, end tables, candle holders and the like which are made of wood, bring a rustic and natural
feel to the space.

Home Grown:

Bringing the outdoors indoors is at it’s simplest with foliage and flowers. Brighten a kitchen space with a vase full of fresh and bright
summer flowers mixed with stems of greenery, add pots of herbs to a window sill or along a counter, they will give off a delicious smell, look lovely and be useful in your cooking. Adding textured plants in beautifully painted ceramic or clay plant pots will add unique pops of colour to any room in the house and make the room instantly feel like you’re outdoors.
